Everyone gets frustrated with their hair. Follic Beauty Lab is a facetious company I imagined that seeks to evolve conversations and help users reach their hair goals. The platform would provide community backed information on healthy hair practices and ways to achieve desired styles. To achieve this, I developed an approach based on personalizing the app experience for 4 different types of hair. Hair typing is essential to create realistic expectations that prioritize healthy hair. By doing this, you create focused conversations of people with similar style potential and issues.
Content can be filtered by inspiration (photos), tutorials (video) and recommendations (written content/links).
Users will also be able to document their own hair journeys. Service providers (hair stylists, colorists, etc) will have a customized experience. Their version of the app will have listing capabilities and give them highlighted replies. Businesses will show for users in their vicinity to see, review and rate.
